St. Rita’s Haunted House to Close After Nearly 40 Years

Home » Blog » Ohio Haunt News, Halloween Headlines

Known to the area as one of the longest running haunted houses, St. Rita School for the Deaf’s Haunted House will be closing its doors this year to scare-seeking folks.

The annual non-profit haunted house, located inside a Civil War era farm house, had been used as a fundraiser for the school but Angie Frith, associate executive director at St. Rita’s, released a statement saying that the haunt would not be running this year due to, “dwindling crowds and income.”

As a silver lining to this end of an era, Greater Springdale Jaycees who previously supported St. Rita’s Haunted House, indicated that they may be planning to begin a new haunted house somewhere else in the area.
