Cincinnati Music Hall
Cincinnati, OH 45202
Built atop the Pest House, a local nickname for the Commerce Lunatic Hospital, which also featured a potter's field for the hundreds who died within, each time construction is done at the music hall, more bones are unearthed. Those laid to rest on the land were never moved to a permanent, and more peaceful location, and it is believed these spirits now haunt the music hall. Bones from adults and children were found when an elevator shaft was built in 1988. Reports of ghost sightings date back to 1876, and come from maintenance workers, staff, visitors and volunteers have all reported sightings and other ghostly interactions over the years. Angry whispering in the elevator, the sense of being watched by unseen entities, hearing a woman sing, and sightings of well-dressed apparitions joining visitors in enjoying musical performances have all been reported.
