The Golden Lamb Restaurant & Hotel dates back to 1803 - opening their doors in the town of Lebanon, a newly established town at the time. The establishment was founded by Jonas Seaman, who purchased a $4 license to operate a "House of Public Entertainment." The establishment remained a gathering place for the community for centuries and earned the nickname "Lebanon’s Living Room." When it comes to eerie tales surrounding the place, there are several spirits said to haunt the restaurant and hotel. One of those spirits is a renowned U.S. Congressman from Ohio, Clement L. Vallandingham, who accidentally shot himself in the room that now bears his name. Then there’s Charles R. Sherman, the Supreme Court Justice who died at the inn suddenly at the age of 41.

There’s also the ghost of a little girl who roams the building. This ghost is said to be either Sarah Stubbs, who lived at the Golden Lamb when she was a child, or Eliza Clay, the daughter of politician Henry Clay, who fell ill and died while at the establishment. Many guests that have stayed at the Golden Lamb have reported paranormal activity – from encounters with apparitions to the sounds of a little girl’s laugh that echoes through the halls. If you plan on staying the night here, or even just dining at the restaurant, be prepared in case you run into one of the Golden Lamb’s infamous ghosts!

Don't look around room if you wake up through the night

Me and my daughter spent a night touring and staying at the hotel. We loved our stay and our room was so nice. There was a scary feeling throughout the hotel that grew stronger as night time came. We went to sleep and I woke up through the night. As soon as my eyes opened. I thoguht DONT look around the room don't lift your head lay still and shut your eyes. Like a warning to protect me. So I listened to that thought and shut my eyes and went back to sleep. When we got up in the monring. I ask my daughters how their night was did they sleep good. One of my daughters said yes all except the old lady that stood at the bottom of the bed most of the night. She didnt do anything but stand there and look at us. I was to afraid to get up or talk to wake you I just watched and tried to make sure she didnt move!!!!! Aaaaahhhhhhh!!!! Ok!!! ??
