Victoria Theatre
Dayton, OH 45402
This theater opened its doors in 1866 and has operated as the Turner Opera House, Grand Opera House, Victoria Opera House and Victoria Theatre. The ghost that reportedly haunts the location is that of a 1920s actress who disappeared from her locked dressing room after a performance. Her spirit and scent of rose perfume have been reported, along with strange sounds and electrical issues.

In 2001 I was here with a group on a weekend morning. We were cleaning up after a show the previous evening. Our group were split up in different areas working on different tasks. I was alone vacuuming in the auditorium. It was one of those industrial ones with a really long chord. I was on the stage left side vacuuming that walkway that leads to the doorway that goes backstage and to multiple rooms, like dressing rooms.
It was plugged in past the doorway by one of the room and I was halfway between the front and back of the seating area. Suddenly the vacuum just quit. I tried to turn it off and on again, but nothing. I thought maybe it came unplugged, yet I still had chord left. I turned to look back behind me in the direction of the outlet. I couldn't see the actual outlet because it was past the doorway and just beyond the framing to the left of it. There was no one back there or anywhere around me in that part of the theater. I walked to the outlet and had to stand there a second to register that it was still, in fact, plugged in.
Before I could even decide what to do next and while I was still staring at the plugged in chord, I heard the vacuum power back on. I was quick to get back out of there away from the outlet, my blood went cold because I couldn't explain it.
Shortly after, 5 or 10 min, when someone with the group came in to check on me I told them what happened and how it creeped me out a bit. He told me the theater was known to be haunted.
Before the incident happened, I had been getting a weird feeling of being watched but I'd look around and knew there wasn't anyone in there so I kept on doing what I was doing.
The outlet was fine, it wasn't janky or anything and the vacuum was fine too, otherwise. No other power went off either.
